Today marks the final day before the FOMC blackout period begins at midnight. Fed officials Daly, Barkin, and Waller speak, their last opportunity to signal any shift in the rate outlook before the Committee goes silent ahead of the April 28–29 meeting. The IMF Spring Meetings continue in Washington, with potential signals on global growth and trade fragmentation.
Next week's flash PMIs and preliminary Michigan consumer sentiment are the first April reads on whether tariff and geopolitical uncertainty is hitting real activity. The Michigan 1-year inflation expectations component is the one to watch. Consensus has jumped to 4.8% from 3.8%, the de-anchoring dynamic the Fed most wants to avoid.

Mainnet is now running upgraded RPC + validator builds focused on stability, clarity, and future readiness.
Key improvements:
• Safer ION connection recovery + better handling of closing connections
• Cleaner RPC logging (less noise, clearer real errors)
• JSON-RPC IDs now fully preserved across all request types
• GetBlockByHash returns proper 200 on valid empty results
• Leader reelection added to prevent stalled special resolutions
• Improved validator logs (readability, UTC timestamps, peer naming)
🧩 Under the hood:
Groundwork for smart contracts is now live in validator code (not yet activated on mainnet), including:
• Configurable runtime logging & VM tracing
• Enhanced NFT minting support
• Event payload upgrades for future contract lifecycle
More stable today. Ready for what’s next.
